Helga Dowbak, B.S. is a chemist, licensed esthetician and certified lasertrologist in Bonita Springs, Florida. She received her undergraduate degree at the prestigious Ann Frank College in Mainz, Germany, after which she received specialized training in chemistry and microbiology at the Universal Institue of Chemistry in Mainz and at the University of Santa Maria in Caracas, Venezuela. Upon completion of her training, she accepted a position at Bristol Myers Squibb [Venezuela] as Director of Quality Control, specializing in childrens’ medicines.

Upon leaving Venezuela for the United States, she started her own company GIREX, headquartered in Houston, Texas. Girex flourished under her leadership, focusing on imports and exports of pigments and polymers, competing with such larger companies as Total Fina and Exxon. After over a successful decade as CEO of Girex, she moved to Naples, Florida and became a licensed esthetician and additionally was certified in the use of the Dornier 940 Diode laser for the treatment of spider and varicose veins, the Aurora FOTO-FACIAL RF which used the new ELOS (Electrical-Opitical Synergy of energy, intense pulsed light and radio-frequency energy) for “cleansing” the face of sun-damaged skin, red/brown spots, fine wrinkles, rosacea and peach fuzz; POLARIS Deep Wrinkle Treatment (The “No Surgery Face Lift”); laser treatment of acne with systems from Radiance and Syneron and laser Hair Removed using ELOS technology. She additionally was certified in permanent make up by Kathy Jones and the Permark Corporation and received advanced training in the use of BOTOX® Cosmetic and Restylane® for Fine Facial Rhytids at Spa Medica in Toronto under Dr. Steve Muholland. Recently, she was trained in the use of Sculptra for patients with advanced facial lipodystrophy.

Helga Dowbak, B.S. speaks three languages fluently: English, German and Spanish and is conversant in Portuguese and French. She is an advanced tennis player rated at high as 4.5 and the winner of numerous trophies. She is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery Nurses Association and presented a paper before this association’s Annual Meeting in Philadelphia in October 2004 entitled: “Medical Spas 2004: The Coming Obsolescence of Face Lifts, Chemical Peels and Liposuction?” Together with her husband Dr. Greg Dowbak, she co-authored a book entitled “Beauty is Power!” which was published in November 2004. She has made numerous TV appearances featuring the use of the Radiance Laser for the Treatment of Acne and the use of the new ELOS technology for the treatment of Deep Facial Rhytids (“The No Surgery Face Lift”). She is the Director of www.theplasticsurgeryspa.com which was voted the Best Medical Spa in Bonita Springs, Florida in 2003 and 2004. In September 2005, she and her husband Dr. Greg Dowbak were inducted into The Maliniac Circle at the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons in Chicago.

Helga Dowbak, B.S. lives with her husband Dr. Greg Dowbak in Bonita Bay, Florida and have two sons, Sven and Daniel.
